Hello! Welcome to a special Moosend tutorial where you will learn how to create an eCommerce website for your brick and mortar business, fast and easy.

In today’s world, every business needs an online presence. With an e-store you improve your company image, you can win customers at any time of the day, and target a wider audience.

In this video I will guide you through the first 3 steps: registering a domain name, signing up with a hosting provider and connecting your website with your new domain.

Let’s start by registering a domain for your business.

A domain name is your website’s address on the internet. It’s what users will type in their browsers in order to visit your website.

For this video, we choose to register a new domain with GoDaddy.com.

On the GoDaddy homepage, enter your preferred domain name, and click the Search icon.

If your domain name is available, great! You can add it to your cart straight away.

If your domain name isn’t available, you’ll be prompted to search for a new domain name or select a different variation.

Once you’ve chosen the one you prefer, click Add to Cart and then click Continue to Cart.

Next, you have the option to add the domain privacy and protection feature. If you’re not interested click No Thanks.  Then, click Continue to cart.

If you are new to GoDaddy, you will need to create an account.

Otherwise, click Sign In and enter your username and password. You can also sign in with Facebook or Google.

Start by entering the email, username, and password. Click Agree or Decline depending on whether you want to receive newsletters from GoDaddy and then click Create Account.

Once you’ve completed this step fill in your billing information and click Save

Next, enter your payment information and click Save

Here you can review and update your billing information. Click Save

If you like, from here you can change the period of time you want to buy your domain for, or add full domain privacy & protection if you wish.

The price will change automatically.

Review your order under My Items and click Complete Purchase.

That’s it! You’ve just purchased your e-store’s domain!

Now let’s move on to the next step, which is to sign up with a hosting provider.

A hosting provider is like your website’s house on the internet. It’s a service that lets you publish your website and upload the various files you’ll need.

For the purpose of this video, we’re going to sign up with a hosting provider through GoDaddy. It’s an easy process and also offers some WordPress Hosting plans too.

By choosing a WordPress hosting plan it means that you get a hosting plan that is set up with WordPress already installed and ready so you don’t have to worry about that too.

So let’s see how you will purchase your web hosting plan.

Visit GoDaddy.com and click on Hosting.

Then, click WordPress Hosting, under the WordPress category to select a hosting plan.

I’m going to choose the Basic plan for now as it is a good starting point and remember you can always upgrade later.

When you’re ready, click Add to cart.

Next, choose the length of your contract.

Then click Continue.

Next, fill in your billing information and choose a payment method based on what you added earlier.

Review your order and click Complete Purchase.

Once your order is complete, a notification will appear on the top right of your screen. You’re done!

Now the next step is to connect your domain to your WordPress site.

From the GoDaddy dashboard, click on the name of your account and then click Manage Domains

On the page that appears, click on the Use My Domain button.

Next, locate the Build a new website icon and click Build to continue.

From the options presented choose Store and Yes, the easier to build the better, then click Setup on the Managed WordPress option.

On the next page, click Create Site.

Then click View Templates.

Next, choose a theme that suits your e-store, by clicking on the Online Store tab and previewing the available options.

Don’t worry, you can always change your theme later on through your WordPress account.

Once you’ve decided, click Use this Template, tick the boxes of your choice and in the field below fill in the public author name of your choice. Then, click Continue

Choose your location and click Continue

Wait for a few minutes while your site is being created.

That’s it! You’ve got yourself a brand new website!

To complete the process, you will need to connect your website with your domain name.

Click on Check Out Site, to be directed to your website.

Click my Dashboard.

Click on Add Domain and you will be directed to GoDaddy. From the dropdown menu choose the domain you’ve previously bought and click Attach

When you’re ready, a notification will appear on the top right of your screen.

You can now go back to your WordPress dashboard by clicking Edit Site. You might need to login again.

Congratulations, your e-store is now live!
